Shadows of the Wanderer, 2008

Sculpture, polychromed wood, 260 x 390 x 605 cm
Images of Chichester Cathedral

The forward movement of this sculpture, conveyed by the young man’s dogged advance and the old man’s gaze into the distance, create a sense that these ‘wanderers’ are fleeing from their world and about to enter ours.

Behind them loom the ‘shadows’, ten larger than life-size figures who observe the men’s plight with a variety of emotions, and one or two who look away and seem to engage us as we pass by.  We encounter such images daily in the media but are not confronted by them as this sculpture confronts us.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
